The city I stayed in

Singapore is a fascinating city. Everywhere you turn at this time of year, decorations are put up to remind you of the upcoming festival next month - Christmas. Not only that, there are year-end sales, Christmas sales at all the shopping malls in town. Much to my delight though, certain branded items which are usually out-of-budget are now affordable, if only you know where to look.

I returned to Bugis Level 3 food court with my fellow colleagues the other day. Just last weekend I was there with some friends and I ate the tasty Hamburger set omelette rice.

Just pictures............

This time round I tried out the fusion stall tucked away in a corner, and the service was rather good. Though busy the person manning the counter attempted to strike some simple conversations with every customer smilingly, and I managed to get some freebies. Prices are a little steep though.

Retail service is another fascinating issue. In Singapore's strive to become a hub of many, service level, ironically, seemed to be lagging behind other cities such as Hong Kong, Tokyo. Good service, in essence, is a rarity nowadays. The contemporary retail sector, largely dominated by foreigners from all corners of the Asian continent, sometimes create more confusion to the consumer with their heavily-accented English.

Food - 民以食为天. One could not possibly go hungry in this city, for everywhere you go you could not avoid sighting a food business somewhere, be it the heartlands or shopping malls, and a number of them are opened for 24 hours.

This cosmopolitan city spoils you with cuisines from all around the globe, sometimes so much that one do not know what to eat. Nevertheless, unlike Hong Kong, dessert huts are not as popular, and people seldom go for desserts after a meal.

These are just mere observations.
