At last... Proud Brunei Citizen!!

Just realized I haven't blogged for a long time... Omg, haha... Anyway, this Tuesday I received a very short notice from the Brunei Authorities that I have be present at the Immigration Complex to be solemnized as a Brunei citizen on Thursday.

In just a short span of time in the afternoon, I have to do so many things - inform school, inform my IA supervisor, seek leave approval, book air tickets, arrange logistics etc... Anyway I managed to book a flight on SQ and will only return to the island republic this Sunday afternoon....

Went out to have Fish and Co. with my colleagues in AMK hub after work that day. Thereafter I went over to my friend's house nearby and interestingly stayed there till dawn, where I then returned to Yishun, pack up some stuffs and leave for Changi Airport. Didn't sleep at all - phobia of missing this morning flight.

This is what I wore... I got mistaken for being a Malay, lolx

Attended the 'taklimat', or oath-taking ceremony on Thursday morning. The oath-taking is the last legal requirement as mandated by Brunei Nationality Act, whereby I am now officially a Brunei citizen. I had to be in traditional Malay costume for the event, haha...

The event took up the whole morning. We were lectured on our roles and responsibilities as new Brunei citizens, how our citizenship could be revoked, more in-depth details about Brunei Nationality Act etc. Anyway the citizenship certificate ceremony will tentatively be conducted in February next year, where I can then obtain a yellow IC and a Brunei International Passport...

Back in NTU 09/10 - Graduating photos

Taken half a day's leave yesterday to return to NTU to take some graduation photos for the graduation yearbook 2008.

Went around NTU taking photos until we were all tired. It's a pity Shan did not turn up for the photo-taking session. Basically one guy in our group, KS, dominated the conversation and talk incessantly for the rest of the day. I swear I had a headache at the end of the day due to the excessive crap generated by him. I believed SHan would have been able to shut him up, haha...

Work's been busy. Had a rather sullen week, but anyway I believed I had done all tat is within my means to remedy some situations. Hopefully things will take a better turn.

Here are some photos from the day:

When September starts....

It's been a long time since I blogged. Been rather busy lately, helping out with my close friend's project after work. Haven't slept properly for the past week, and finally get to sleep till very late today as tuition is canceled.

Went Comex 2007 at Suntec last Sunday. Initially intended to scout for some PDA phones at Starhub booth and probably sign up for a new line with the free IDD018 calls, but the queue was so long and it put me off.

Purchased a Hauppage TV Tuner instead at a discounted price. Now I can watch TV on my laptop!! I find it very cool as it comes with remote control, though I have to stick the portable antenna outside my window whenever I want to watch TV.

Got 'reprimanded' by my immediate supervisor for turning up late at work. Apparently someone filed a complaint to him that I turned up at ridiculous hours and he had to take some form of action. Though I do stay back to make up for the hours, I guess it doesn't matter. I'll try not to be late again in the future.

Work is getting challenging. A new project is coming along, and now I may have to juggle 2 projects. The other day we were given a short notice of about 3 hours to research and develop a Windows application. SO challenging and we DID it!!

Saw WM at YCK station yesterday with his girlfriend. He is now working in ST Electronics as a programmer! Never thought he would become a programmer.... Anyway Monday there is a photo-taking session for Graduation 2008, had taken a half-day leave to attend...
