Backdated NTU Yearbook Pics...

Just arrived home slightly past midnight. It has been a rather long day, and the weather was terribly hot. Met a group of friends and had dinner at the open food center, the MakanSutra at Esplanade.

Felt so bloated after dinner. This is probably due to the fact that I had not consumed any food for the whole day. To escape the sweltering heat and also to maximize parking charges, we headed over to Starbucks at Marina Square and talked cock until around 11 pm. Got "chastised" for wearing Liverpool jersey as some of the group were Man U die-hards.

Tentatively some of them invited me to go for an overseas trip with them to Macau and HK, but I have yet to collect my Brunei Passport! Probably has to be postponed till after February, after my certification ceremony. Just in time for a "graduation" trip. What an irony the trip is not made with uni classmates, zzz.....

By the way, one of my uni friends helped me to retrieve some of the photos taken during the last graduation photo-taking session, which will probably be covered in the 2008 Graduation Yearbook. This will most likely be the last of a series of photos taken during the university years. Photos as follows:

Zig zag effects as intended, haha...

Hi-5, mates! Yeah we graduating from "hell"...

Dunno why my friend passed me the photo he took as well. He is from another class. Might as well post them cause I know some of them too. Haven't seen them for ages! I think their posing very steady-leh, rather than making some funny faces! SO CHILDISH!!

Thumbs up to them too for being a rather united class, and most of them did made an effort to meet up to take the pictures below. Very memorable graduation pictures indeed! Non-elitist class is really different, haha.... Heard some of the girls are going ROM soon! They even had organized and confirmed a graduation trip to HK.... Happening leh!

My colleagues also are making arrangements for graduation trips. One of them will be visiting the ROK (South Korea), and he has been announcing it persistently. Think I need to start saving some money for the proposed budget trip next year too. Luckily my friend returned my money the other day. The next step: Collect back my external Hard Disk and screwdriver set!

Been listening to plenty of Jay' s songs recently. My office laptop is loaded with all the songs from his albums. Heard he is coming to Singapore for a concert at January 19 2008.

By the way, if you are a cat lover and are crazy about cats, please do try to visit the blog of my friend's CAT - Ah Cheng!! The link is as follows:

Anyway it's running late... Think I'll go watch the movie The Shooter before sleeping. Everyone's been recommending that this movie is very nice... Till then, sleep tight....

Birthday of A Scorpion Colleague

The day started off pleasantly well... I arrived at the office somewhat early this morning, much to the surprise of my colleagues.... Coincidentally, today is also the birthday of one of my IA colleagues, ZY!!! Happy 20th Birthday to ya....

Everybody acted non-nonchalantly throughout the morning, and 2 of us sneaked out to retrieve the cake we have ordered around noon. I believed we have successfully kept the star of the day in the dark about this whole state of affairs, and she seemed surprised when we started the mini-birthday "bash", haha... Don't you think the birthday card on top left picture looks creative?

The Birthday cake we bought... Creamy with strawberries

All guys photo taking together with the birthday girl's supervisor, Mr. R

Bought a box of egg tarts and ate some again right after work before heading towards Jurong West to meet a friend for dinner... So sad, everyone is always heading in other directions from me after work and it happens all the time!!! Aarggs...

Feel so fat as well. Luckily my friends love the yummy egg tarts and I, *ahem*, can be excused from consuming them... Think I should go on diet for a while, and my weight had been happily increasing itself without my consent these few weeks, darn! Read from someone's blog said wanna have revenge for prank playing that time wor.... Must be more cautious le, haha....

Looking forward to go to work.....

Time really flies and in slightly over a month, my internship will be ending... Days now are ruled over by the Scorpio sign as it is now nearing the end of October... I seemed to have awoken from a deep slumber and is now regaining momentum in my life.

My top priority now is to eradicate my irritating habit of turning up late for work. Today was successful by a small margin, but more concerted efforts are required. I need to thank my colleagues for their encouragements as well as their dedicated morning calls! You guys are great!!

Workload is going to be increasing. There are just plenty of work to cope with, and my supervisor has an infinite supply of works to assign. Nevertheless, I'm glad to be working in this organization. I really learned a lot of things, programming aside.

Just this morning, I had to make a presentation during the routine Tuesday morning meeting. It was rather unnerving as it was a long time since I made any presentations. Much to my embarrassment, I stammered and carelessly muttered wrong terms. Worst of all, my program ran into some unexpected minor flaws. Fortunately, the targeted audience were friendly and they provided a plethora of feedbacks to my program design.

The day after tomorrow will be the birthday of one of my colleagues. She just sent me another sneak pic taken during the Geylang outing, zzz.... Anyway, hopefully everything will run smoothly and I'll try to get the system to run like clockwork as soon as possible. I need to practice more self-discipline.

Sneak Pics... Her camera phone can really sneak pics, haha!!

Went to Thomson Road for dinner cum supper yesterday with a friend. We tried out the Sarawak Kolo Mee, supposedly freshly flown from Sarawak, but the mee was not as what I expected. The soup's not bad though. Had a tasty mushroom cheese prata as well, haha...

One of my friends, or rather my uni classmate unexpectedly sms-ed me that he had bought something for me which will be arriving in 3 to 4 weeks' time. I'm really curious about this 'gift' he had purchased, and god knows what is up on his sleeve, haha.... Actually he doesn't have to buy me anything, but anyway, thanks a lot if you are reading this, I really appreciate it.

I had been suffering from a lack of sleep stretching from the weekend... I seriously need to recuperate from my lethargy... Anyway, looking forward to get to work tomorrow......

Friday Geylang "Excursion" Trip

Was supposed to post earlier to make the post stay within Friday, but fall into a slumber instead after watching the 10pm news on tv. Only remember a PRC woman was stabbed in Toa Payoh bus interchange and the alleged perpetrator had turned himself in to the police shortly.

Anyway, work today is pretty mundane. Had a long meeting early in the morning, and was supposed to do a presentation and demo then but was subsequently adjourned due to time constraints. Our "Singaporean-ized" ang moh (Caucasian) director is pretty funny, and I find it hilarious when he seems and attempts to mimic the Singlish lingo with his heavily American-accented English. Had an expensive lunch at Raffles Place subsequently.

Work ended promptly at 17 30 and we headed to Geylang after work. Took 2 cabs to the famous Hor Fun (rice noodles) stall at Lorong 9. Ordered some side dishes and of course the hor fun itself. We topped it up with frog porridge from another stall across the road. Some pictures:

Sneak Pics of Aqua J... See how she finished all the dishes in front, haha...

Zac and ZY - photo unknowingly taken

EB and KS... Got ghost behind ah?

The 3 NTU IA guys in W.A.

We went for another round of desserts at another stall. Ordered "tau hua" (beancurd) and "you tiao" (no idea what it is in English!). The "you tiao" was so oily and by the time we finished eating, our hands were literally full of oil!!

Trapped in between 2 aquarius... Oh no!

"You tiao" fight... Why nv ask us get ready for picture taking?

Went for an "excursion" around the back alleys of Lorong 10 and 12. Saw some police patrol cars in the area, probably raiding the place for illegal hookers. One of the ladies "offered" herself to my colleague who looked like a rich boss, to which he politely declined. Tired and full, we went home thereafter. Shared a cab with another colleague to Toa Payoh and took a north-bound train from there.

Found an interesting quote from Zac's blog: The old saying, “When God closes a door, he opens a window”, has a counterpart. “In order for windows of opportunity to open for you, you must close some doors”. The extra “load” carried around by unfinished business, weighs so much that you compromise your ability to even see, and then open, those windows of opportunity. Nicely phrased indeed.

Met a friend T for lunch on Wednesday and Thurs! Just realized that she works in the same building as me at the higher floors. Thanks for her lunch treat. Ghost, when will u appear in Tanjong Pagar again? Haha...

By the grace of god, I finally feel motivated to work again. Work was much more enjoyable these days. J was getting paranoid over horoscope bashing. I remembered few days ago I sent a colleague an article on Aquarius, and she unexpectedly read some parts of it audibly. Immediately the deafening silence was broken by J's voice of defiance, ensued by soft outbursts of laughters all around.

I guessed we all over-spent this October, and, and pay day is still far far away!! Aargs! Hmm, the next outing is probably at Chomp Chomp or we'll go for a steamboat, haha... Gotta sleep, a long long day ahead!

Finance in the Red!

Just came back from watching The Detective at Cathay Cineleisure. I still believe Cathay is much cheaper than GV, haha... Anyway, the movie was spooky, I had goosebumps all over, but it was neither gruesome nor horrifying, just spooky... Some twists were unexpected though.

Been rather busy over the past weekend, and it'll stretch over to this weekend, but I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Things weren't really the same anymore, but colleagues wise, we seemed to have gotten closer.

Mixed around with some other friends, and just realized some of them were working around in Tanjong Pagar area as well. Exchanged numbers and probably we'll start visiting one another soon, with a common purpose - EGG TARTS!!!

This month I overspent financially. Paid school fees, and a colleague's birthday is just next week. We were all racking our brains on the celebration issues, haha... I think is high time for me to collect my "bad debts".

Didn't meet any university classmates recently... Felt so relieved without them around. Never felt so free, as I can really be myself when socializing in the other 2 groups. It sucks that most of your uni classmates are such hypocrites and there were so many underground politics involved, like a constant war zone. Most had "xin bing" with one another. Sometimes I find myself polarized into contrasting situations, and then discarded like a used tissue!

The smallest mistake will have u banished to the deepest of hell, though they act non-chalant, soon u'll find urself ostracized in no time, especially if you have no more value to be made used of. Anyway I'm terrible in reading hints, so hints doesn't work on me. Direct approach is so much better.

Nevertheless, I have all but given up on my group of uni classmates. I no longer know them anymore, many things have since changed. We didn't talk much anymore, we keep running from the pains. Just sad that it has to end this way. I might follow Auntie Shan's idea to gradually make myself disappear as if I never existed in the class, except for a selected few who had always been beside me giving me advices and encouragements.

In contrast, office was fun, though I am seriously under-motivated but I had a great time irritating and annoying the Aquarius in our group! I really notice Aquarius have the same patterns... It really sounds like horoscope bickering at times. Please DUN hatch up evil plans and sabo me next month, haha....

Colleague Outing.....

Hi all, I have not been actively blogging recently since I returned from Brunei... Ran into some sort of turmoil and problems and fortunately, some close friends were there to bail me out, directly or indirectly. Thanks a lot!! You know who you all are!

Went out with my colleagues today to catch a movie: DayWatch at Vivocity. Initially we had been discussing about watching Resident Evil 3: Extinction the whole afternoon, but some of us had forgotten the previous plot and had to catch up, so this movie had to be postponed. Met a long long lost poly friend there, but we never met face-to-face.

Today was an interesting day. Had a meeting late morning, and it was the first time I spoke directly to the ang moh director from my side, and a presentation was due in the near future about the project I am working on. Oh please cede me strength as I have been very unmotivated recently. My IA supervisor returned me a: Be more professional and punctual at work. Omg.

Met my friend for lunch in Tanjong Pagar the other day. Haven't met for quite some time, and I again break the rule by taking a slightly longer lunch break. There was supposed to be a gathering last week, but was postponed nevertheless. Anyway due to some undisclosed commitments I might not be able to make it to most of the future gatherings. Sorry not because I don't want give face! :)

Moving on to the next phase of life, I suddenly found myself tentatively busy with non-work related plans, much to my delight. However, I picked up my smoking habit again, though still a light smoker. The cigarette pack I bought cost me $11.60. Didn't realized it had risen so much, the last time was only $6 plus.

Anyway, taking my friend's advices, I'm trying to change into another person, allowing the wild and irresponsible side of me to be more dominant. This transition period will be fun!! Lolx... I must wean off smoking!!!
